Arbitrators Panel Application
ADGM Dispute Resolution Hearing Centre (DRHC)
Information for Applicants
1. Persons who wish to be considered for inclusion in the ADGM DRHC Panel of Arbitrators must:
- a) be able to demonstrate substantial experience in arbitration (as arbitrator, counsel, expert witness, instructing solicitor or otherwise), with at least 10 years’ full time arbitration experience (or equivalent);
- b) have drafted at least ten arbitral awards;
- c) provide two reference letters;
- d) be willing to sit in ADGM; and
- e) confirm that he or she has never been found guilty by a court or disciplinary tribunal of misconduct and is of good standing and character.
2. Applications are reviewed by the ADGM DRHC to ensure they meet the selection criteria provided in paragraph 1.
3. The ADGM DRHC reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to accept for inclusion in the Panel applicants who do not meet any one of the selection criteria listed in paragraphs 1(a) or 1(b), but who are able to demonstrate an appropriate level of arbitration experience (whether as arbitrator, counsel, expert witness, instructing solicitor or otherwise).
4. Applicants must complete and sign this application and attach the required documents.
5. Applicants will be informed in writing as to whether their application is accepted. If the application is accepted, a summary profile of the applicant will be published on the ADGM DRHC’s website along with a link to his or her curriculum vitae.
6. Inclusion in the Panel is for a fixed term of 5 years. It is recommended that applicants who have been accepted for inclusion in the Panel maintain a high-quality arbitration practice and keep up-to-date with developments in the law and practice of arbitration.
7. The ADGM DRHC will retain the applicant’s information for the purposes described in this application. For more information about how the ADGM DRHC handles the applicant’s personal data, please refer to ADGM’s Privacy Policy.
8. The ADGM DRHC reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to:
- a) accept or reject applications for inclusion in the Panel of Arbitrators;
- b) automatically renew an arbitrator’s term on the Panel of Arbitrators;
- c) refuse to renew an arbitrator’s term on the Panel of Arbitrators; and
- remove an arbitrator from the Panel of Arbitrators for any reason.
9. Any decision made by the ADGM DRHC pursuant to paragraph 8 is final and is not subject to review. The ADGM DRHC is under no obligation to provide reasons for any decision made pursuant to paragraph 8.
