ADGM Dispute Resolution Hearing Centre (DRHC)

Thank you for your interest in the ADGM Dispute Resolution Hearing Centre (ADGM DRHC) Panel of Mediators.

The ADGM DRHC Panel of Mediators is designed to provide parties seeking to resolve their dispute through mediation with access to a local and international panel of accredited mediators from diverse jurisdictions and sectors, with the highest standard of dispute resolution skills, knowledge and expertise.

Membership of the Panel is limited, and is subject to assessment and review by the ADGM DRHC. This document sets out entry, submissions and assessment requirements for applicants interested in joining the ADGM DRHC Panel of Mediators.

Information for Applicants

  1. Persons who wish to be considered for inclusion in the ADGM DRHC Panel of Mediators must:
    1. demonstrate a substantial level of experience as a mediator; a minimum of 20 mediations or 200 hours of mediation practice in the three years preceding the application will normally be sufficient;
    2. set out details of other relevant mediation activities or accomplishments (e.g. providing mediation training or workshops, coaching or mentoring, achievement of honours and/or awards, publications, etc.);
    3. provide proof of accreditation, and membership of a recognised dispute resolution body;
    4. demonstrate commitment to continuous development through training and education;
    5. submit a minimum of three references from parties or legal advisers as to the applicant’s competence, expertise, skill and diligence as a mediator; and
    6. confirm that the applicant has never been found guilty by a court or disciplinary tribunal of misconduct and is of good standing and character.
  2. The ADGM DRHC reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to accept for inclusion in the Panel applicants who do not meet all of the selection criteria listed in paragraph 1, but who are able to demonstrate a level of mediation experience that is commensurate with the standing and reputation of the members of the Panel.
  3. Applicants must complete and sign this application and attach the required documents.

  4. Applicants will be informed in writing as to whether their application is accepted. If the application is accepted, a summary profile of the applicant will be published on the ADGM DRHC’s website along with a link to the panel member’s resume.
  5. Inclusion in the Panel is for a fixed term of three years. It is recommended that applicants who have been accepted for inclusion in the Panel maintain a mediation practice of the highest standards and keep current with developments in the law and practice of mediation.
  6. The ADGM DRHC will retain the applicant’s information for the purposes described in this application. For more information about how the ADGM DRHC handles the applicant’s personal data, please refer to ADGM’s Privacy Policy.
  7. The ADGM DRHC reserves the right, in its absolute discretion to:
    1. accept or reject applications for inclusion in the Panel of Mediators;
    2. automatically review a mediator’s term on the Panel of Mediators;
    3. refuse to renew a mediator’s term on the Panel of Mediators; and
    4. remove a mediator from the Panel of Mediators for any reason.
  8. Any decision made by the ADGM DRHC pursuant to paragraph 7 is final and is not subject to review. The ADGM DRHC is under no obligation to provide reasons for any decision made pursuant to paragraph 7.
